Those looking to become California real estate agents need to complete a 135-hour pre-license training program. MLS Orientation (Adobe Acrobat File)
Materials for the Lake County Association of Realtors. All new MLS members are required to review this material and take an online test within 60 days of joining the MLS.

Mortgage Loan Originator Renewal Courses
Mortgage loan originators licensed in California must take a total of 8 hours of NMLS continuing education. If you are licensed through the Department of Business Oversight (DBO), you must take a 1-hour CA-DBO course along with 7 hours of standard education. If you obtained your loan originator license through the California Bureau of Real Estate (CalBRE), you may take the comprehensive 8-hour course without DBO credit. CalBRE licensees may optionally take the CalBRE-specific package, which provides NMLS credit as well as CalBRE credit towards your real estate license renewal (CalBRE Sponsor #4056). If you are unsure whether you are licensed through the DBO or through the CalBRE, visit http://www.nmlsconsumeraccess.org to look up your State License status.
